MARION D. VOORHIES
Marion D. Voorhies, age 77, 210 Meadowview Drive, Frankfort, husband of Martha Webb Voorhies, formerly of Burgin, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born November 29, 1926 in Bohon, KY, he was the son of the Late Ellis and Fannie Ann Westerfield Voorhies.
He was a retired employee of Corning Glass Works in Harrodsburg as a mixing department supervisor, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW, was past President of the Burgin Lions Club, former Burgin City Commissioner, and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: one son, Dennis R. Voorhies, Burgin; one step son, Michael K. Webb, Winchester; two daughters, Regina Lynn Voorhies, Glencoe, KY and Libby Elks, Danville; three step daughters, Trudy Stevens, Danville, Tamara Lasher, Crystal River, Florida, and Robin Baughan, Burkesville, KY.; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 15th in the Springhill Cemetery by Tom Hall. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am Tuesday until the hour of service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to ones favorite charity.
