Deeply sorry for this loss. We served together in Afghanistan and were stationed in Ft. Hood TX together. My deepest condolences for his family. I actually attempted reaching him a few weeks ago. Something was telling me I needed to contact him but never got a response.

For Andrew:
Witnessing your birth, as the Anesthesiologist played Handel’s Messiah - Hallelujah,
made your emergence even more majestic.
Seeing you take your first breath
made my heart skip a beat
Your first day of school, getting glasses,
coaching your baseball team,
all of the scrapes, bruises, and breaks
Over the years as you got older,
and left to fight a war,
you probably never felt what I did,
how I worried and prayed, and more.
Because even when we were miles apart,
you were always here in my heart.
Still my baby boy Andrew Michael, even at 28.
There’s a hole in my soul today
and I don’t think it can ever be filled.
But there’s hope in my heart
because you will always be here with me,
just like you have been all these years.
A Daddy’s love is forever,
God himself has shown me that.
Even when I fail to talk to Him
or work on deepening my relationship,
He loves me still and is always there
with arms outstretched saying “I love you this much”, as He hopes I’ll say, “I love you MORE”, like all daddy’s do.
There’s a hole in my soul today
and I don’t think it can ever be filled.
But there’s hope in my heart
because after my days here are over,
we will walk on streets of gold.
We’ll know beyond a shadow of a doubt, in the stillness of that moment,
the depth of the love between us.
The noise of earthly situations and drama all gone, along with any sadness or pain.
Eternity begins with the song we first heard together
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
as the angels sing the refrain:
And He shall reign for ever and ever
King of kings and Lord of lords.
There is a hole in my soul today
But this is the hope that fills my heart
All my love,
Your Very Proud Dad, Michael Jason Evans
Sending love and praying for comfort for:
Teri, Lynn, Megan, Micah, and Aaron, Jack, Lucy and extended family and friends.
