Obituary of Richard M. Logan
Richard M. Logan, 92, Harrodsburg, husband of Mary Jane Donovan Logan, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY.
Born August 5, 1925, in New Liberty, IL, he was the son of the late Meredith M. and Charlotte (Miller) Logan. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker for Sheet Metal Workers Local #110, a former People Greeter at Walmart, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and a KY Colonel. Richard was a Sergeant and Army Airborne Paratrooper Veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of 11th Airborne Division, a member of the VFW Post 6935 and the American Legion Post 52. During his military service he was awarded the Bronze Star for Exemplary Conduct in Combat, The Combat Infantry Badge, and Paratrooper Wings.
Survivors other than his wife include: two step daughters, Dana Lee Tincher of Berea, KY, and Dawn Ray Summerville of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo and Wayne Logan.
Funeral services will be 2PM Sat., Feb. 10, 2018, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Eddie Russell. Burial with military rites will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
