Obituary of James Sims

James Sims, 77, Harrodsburg, KY, died Tuesday at his home in Harrodsburg. Born January 27,1941, in Harrodsburg, KY, to late Paul and the late Thelma (Drury) Sims.

James was a farmer doing research and development for Craft Foods and was a member of the Grapevine Christian Church.

          James is survived by: a son: Jeff (Samantha) Sims of Harrodsburg, four grandchildren, Peyton Sims, Shay West, Maegan Sims and Baileigh Sims, and  two great  grandchildren. James was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Sims, two sisters, Shelby Jean Sims and Shirley Ann Keeling and a brother, Maurice Sims.

          Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Saturday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel,  Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Gilbert, Keith Hyatt, Troy Eaton, Ronnie Sims, Peyton Sims and Kelly Bugg. Honorary Bearers will be; Shay West, Maegan Sims, Baileigh Sims, Keegan Lay, Brayden West and Isaac Colvin.

          Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday; February 18 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Larry Holbrook. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

          The family request memorial donations be sent to: Mercer County Humane Society, 132 N. Main St.,  Harrodsburg, KY 40330. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com
