John T. Carter, 78, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Donna Mae Richmond Carter, died Friday, June 29, 2018 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington. Born November 3, 1939, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Elmer and Velma Kurtz Carter.

          He was an Archeologist for the State of KY, in the Surface Mining Dept. and served in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, the Webb Society and the Inventors Society.

          Survivors other than his wife: three daughters, Helena Ann (Charles Warner) Penn of Lexington, Karen Denise (Robert) Fallis of Columbus, OH and Patricia Jo (Geoffrey C.) O'Nan of Versailles; one son, Thomas Allen Carter of Lexington; one brother, Daniel (Diane) Carter of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his son, Beau David Carter and his brother, Harvey Carter.

          Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2018 from 12-2pm with a service at 2pm by Terry Morrison at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.

          The family request memorial donations be sent to Harrodsburg Historical Society, St. Joseph Indian School or The Old Mud Meeting House.
