Hugh Leonard Peavler, 92, of Richmond, KY, formerly of Harrodsburg, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Born July 5, 1926, in Harrodsburg, he was the loving son of the late Byron Beckham and Laura Houchins Peavler; devoted husband of the late Kathryn Sanders Peavler for 65 years. Hugh retired in 1985 as Sales Manager for Abbott Laboratories, a career he loved.  Hugh served during World War II in the Navy, he also attended UK and was a member of 1st United Methodist Church.

 

Hugh is survived by: one daughter: Jenny (Dennis) McWilliams of Richmond, KY and one son: John L. (Mary Beth) Peavler of Ft Wright, KY. One brother: James (Woodie) Morris Peavler of Burgin, KY. Two granddaughters: Laura Kathryn McWilliams of Washington, D.C. and Rachel Elizabeth Peavler of Fort Wright, KY. Sister In Law: Jean Sanders Wiley of Lexington, KY; Brother In Law: Nelson (Joyce) Cleo Sanders of Harrodsburg; as well as many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Hugh was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Anne Peavler Sharpe Merriman, Eva Peavler Fisher and Byron Bush Peavler.

 

Visitation will be Friday, July 27 from 10:30 until 12:30, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Graveside services 3 PM Friday, July 27th, Spring Hill Cemetery Pavilion.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to The McCready-Telford Foundation, 300 Stocker Drive, Richmond,KY 40475.
