Obituary of Dolores Ann Shannon

Dolores Ann Shannon, 76, Burgin, wife of G.T. Shannon, died Thursday; July 19 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Born June 9, 1942, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Willard" and Evelyn (Smith) Freeman. A Graduate and Salutatorian of 1960 Burgin High School and then Fugazi Business College. Dolores was a W.I.C. clerk for the Trigg and Boyle County Health Departments, and was a full time homemaker.

          Dolores is survived by: her husband: George Thomas Shannon, two daughters: Leia (Dwayne) Norman and Sherri Shannon of Mt Sterling, one son: Tim (Sonya) Shannon of Harrodsburg, five grandchildren; Sky (Dustin) Maddox , Sagan Shannon, Sterling (Jerica) Shannon, Cortlynn (Brandon) Wiler and Sydney Craycraft (Aaron Wheeler); three great  grandchildren, Kamron Stone Maddox, Khloe Jade Maddox and Jackson Steel Shannon. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Freeman and sister, Phyllis Freeman.

          Visitation will be Sunday; July 22, from 4-7pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel,  Harrodsburg, KY. Life Celebration service, led by Sherri Shannon, will begin at 7 pm

          The family request memorial donations be sent to: the Burgin United Methodist Church, 739 Mallard Cove, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
