WILLIAM KENNETH STRATTON William Kenneth Stratton, age 74, Short Road, Salvisa, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born October 14, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late William Preston and Eva Currens Stratton. He was a retired Engineer for the Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges for the Kentucky State Government, a life-long farmer, member of the Masonic Lodge # 90 F & AM in Lawrenceburg, the Oleika Shrine Temple, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Claylick Methodist Church. Survivors include his fiancé, Carol Becker, Campbellsville; two sons, William Kenneth Stratton, Jr., Lawrenceburg and Ashley W. Stratton, Ludlow; one daughter, Pam and her husband Dennis Bourne, Frankfort; four brothers, Arnett Stratton, Lexington, Lyle Stratton, Bowling Green, Bobby Stratton, Salvisa, and Sherman Stratton, Powder Springs, Georgia; six sisters, Mae Redman and Frances Ellis, both of Denham Springs Louisiana, Rebecca Clem, Salvisa, Kathleen Bowen, Mercer County, Lavenia Brammer, Danville, and Jeanette Sullivan, Monroe, Georgia; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, July 20th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. John Hockersmith and Rev. Pete Gilliam. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Allen Wayne Bowen, Randy Orwig, Jeff Wayne, Ken Stratton, Jerry Bell, Bill Mann, Brian Bourne, Cody Stratton, Craig Stratton, and Ted Hill. Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Monday and after 7:30 am Tuesday at the chapel. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Monday evening at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502 or to the local American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 102, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
