Obituary of Gladys Currens Lewis
Gladys Lewis, 96, Harrodsburg, widow of James A. Lewis, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, at her home. Born August 3, 1922, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Beulah (Merryman) Currens. Gladys was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one daughter, JoAnn (Butch) Merchant of Harrodsburg; one son, Bobby (Brenda) Lewis of Harrodsburg; one sister, Louise Smock of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Jimmy (Margaret) Currens and Eldorse (Doris) Currens, both of Harrodsburg, and Lee (Shirley) Currens of SC,; a sister in law, Omega Currens; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Jake Currens, John Haskell Currens, Louis Robards Currens, Bernice Carr, and Flossie Renner.
Funeral services 1 PM Mon., Nov. 12, 2018, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Brandon Carrier. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM, Sunday, Ransdell's.
Pallbearers: Bryant & Jordan Merchant, Kevin & Daryl Lewis, John Logue, Jon Jon Logue, Logan Lewis, and Jackson Tucker Slaven. Honorary bearers: Bridget, Hannah, & Rachael Logue, Pam, Ally, & Jennifer Merchant and Brandy Lewis.
