Diamond Salmons 73, Harrodsburg, KY., died Thursday, January 03, 2019.

Born July28, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio; he was the eldest son of the late Francis (Jr.) Salmons and Beulah Davidson Salmons of Oneida, Ky.   He graduated high school from Oneida Baptist Institute in 1963, graduated Cumberland College with a degree in Elementary Education, and attended Eastern KY University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Special Education.  He was a former Harrodsburg Elementary School Teacher and assisted with the implementation of the Special Education Program.

After leaving the field of teaching, he worked as certified auto mechanic with Nissan in TN and as a factory worker in Springfield, KY.

His unprecedented love for the outdoors was definite! He was an avid hunter, archer, and fisherman; a true outdoorsman.

Survivors include:  Susan Bowling, former wife and caregiver of Albuquerque, NM.  Two daughters, Angela Salmons Pierce (Bill) of Fairplay, CO and Stephanie Salmons Paulin (Bill) of Albuquerque, NM.  Grandchildren are 5:  Colten Pierce, Stephen Paulin, Brandon Paulin, Ryan Paulin and Meghan Paulin.

Brothers: Rudolph (Janet), Ernie(Shirley), Timothy(Sharon),Edward(Deborah) and Eric (Kathy); all of Clay County KY.  He was preceded in death by his brother Frankie Salmons.

An expression of gratitude from the family to Anthony and Amy Thompson of Springfield, KY and Will Rogers of Harrodsburg, KY for their devoted friendship, companionship and compassion over the many years.

A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.  Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
