Obituary of Joseph G. Ammons

Joseph G. "Joe" Ammons, Jr., 77, Harrodsburg, husband of Janice Carol Goodlett Ammons, died Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.  Born March 5, 1941, in Meade County, he was the son of the late Joseph Gid and Evelyn (Goins) Ammons. He was retired self-employed heavy equipment operator, member of the Worlds Town Church of God, and attended the Burgin Church of God.

 

Other survivors include: two daughters, Joetta A. Lupson and Joyce (Daryl) Baker, both of Harrodsburg; four sons, Mark (Debbie) Ammons, Steven (Becky) Ammons, Dale (Sharee) Ammons, and Paul David (Jill) Ammons, all of Harrodsburg;  three sisters, Joyce (Jim) Sipes and Lois Ammons, both of Brandenburg, KY, and Carolyn Wrobleski of Harrodsburg; four brothers,  Jimmy, Tommy, and Denny Ammons, and Ronnie (Denise) Ammons, all of Brandenburg, KY; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Ammons, a sister, Sandy (Tom) Hilky, a brother, Bob Ammons, and two grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Donnie Irvin. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until hour of service Sunday, Ransdell's.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe's children.

 

The family requests that memorials take the form of donations towards final expenses c/o Ransdell Funeral Chapel..
