Obituary of Barbara Jean Lake

Barbara Jean Lake, 74, Harrodsburg, KY, wife of Kenton Lake, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.

 

Born May 7, 1944, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Cornell H. and Lillie B. (Taylor) McRay. She was retired owner, operator and beautician for 35 years of the Fashionette Hair Salon, and attended The Carpenter's Christian Church.

 

Other survivors include: one daughter, Angela Gritton of Harrodsburg; one son, Darryl Lake of Stanford;  four sisters, Kathleen Patterson, Shirley Bailey, Charlotte Hart, and Pansy Houston, all of Mercer Co.; two brothers, Thomas Emerson McRay and C. H. "Buddy" McRay, both of Mercer Co.; two grandchildren, Amelia Lake and Reed Gritton, both of Harrodsburg.

 

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Greg Warren, Josh Stine, and Reed Gritton.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.  Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.

 

Pallbearers are: Ryan Lake, Marty Montgomery, Mike Matherly, Tim Springate, Reed Gritton, and Jerry Dismuke. Honorary bearers are:Nelson Gritton and Benton Lake.
