Obituary of Paul Taylor Votaw
Paul Taylor Votaw, 99, of Harrodsburg, husband of Bessie Steele Votaw, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 18, 2019.
Born March 9, 1919, in Washington Co., KY, he was the son of the late Tom and Minnie Bruner Votaw. Paul retired after 43 years from the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, and was veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served in thirteen foreign countries. Paul was also a member of the Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church, Danville, and had coached little league baseball for several years.
Other survivors include: sons, Paul Steven (Ann) Votaw, Lawrenceburg, David Keith (Lisa) Votaw, Stanford, and Cecil Smith, Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike (Betty) Votaw, siblings, Ansil, Shannon, and Stanley Votaw, Evelyn Collis, Ruth McGuffey, and Sarah Thompson, as well as a grandson.
Funeral services 11 AM Friday, Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Pastor Travis Alltop. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thur., Ransdell's.
Pallbearers: Derek Wilson, Jason Jackson, Jerry Bell, Glave Burton, Johnny Meredith, Chad Whitis, Cecil Smith, David Reilly, David Dannheiser, Patrick and Derek Votaw. Honorary bearers: J.T., Tony, and Glave Votaw, Bob Bowling, Dr. Mark Tussey, Roger Bandy, Tom Hogg, Charlie Wilkerson, Tom Potts, J.D. Smith, Marvin Michael, Johnny Thompson, Gary Douglas, Richard Reilly, Shirley Dannheiser, Kaye Burton, Patricia Hildebrandt, and Janet Goodlett.
