Martha Christine Bennett, 93, Harrodsburg, widow of Samuel C. Bennett, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the Danville Center For Health & Rehab.

 

Born April 25, 1925, in Mercer Co., she was the daughter of the late George L. and Emma (Ball) Sexton. Martha, along with her husband, owned and operated Bennett's Superior Food Mart in Burgin for several years, and she was a member of the Burgin Christian Church.

 

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda (Bill) McGlone of Harrodsburg; one son, David (Robin) Bennett of TN; four grandchildren, Sam (Anita) Qualls, Diana (Josh) Bennett, Randy & John Qualls; several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Samuel Bennett Jr. and Sammy Joan Bennett, and nine siblings, Dudley, Fred, Chester, and Arthur W. Sexton, JoAnn Dexter, Frances Knight, Flossie Caddell, Georgia Webb, and Jenny Taylor.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Wed., Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Joshua Snyder.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 11:00 AM  until  the hour of service on Wednesday, Ransdell's.

 

Pallbearers are:  Bryant & Wesley Qualls, Tom McGlone, Charles Goodlett, Josh Underwood and Jerry Thacker.
