Obituary of John Hagan Newton
John Hagan "Jack" Newton, 95, widower of Mary Wood Vaughn Newton, died Mon., March 18, 2019, at the Charleston Health Care Center, Danville.
Born January 20, 1924, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late John Hind and Bettie Hagan Newton. Jack was a retired Soil Conservationis for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: two daughters, Betsy (Bruce) Newton Gillespie, Danville, and Mary Anne (Curry) Newton Woods, Bel Air, MD; four grandchildren, Anna Woods Norvez, Luke Woods, Jessica Gillespie Hagan, and John Gillespie; four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2019, by Rev. Bert Eyster, at the Spring Hill Pavilion, 529 Greenville St., Harrodsburg, KY 40330. Arrangements by Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.
