Obituary of Gerald Dale Carter

Mr. Gerald Dale Carter, age 75 of Franklin, KY, formerly of Harrodsburg, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 9:32 PM at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Gerald was born October 22, 1943 in Mercer Co., KY to the late Simon Carter and the late Pauline Vandiver Carter.  He was preceded in death by a son Gary (Bub) Carter, a daughter Mandy Carter, and a brother Jimmie Carter.

He is survived by his wife Betty, three children: Tammy Sallee (Robert) of Harrodsburg, KY, Jessica Towe (Todd) of Franklin, KY and Paula Logue (Brent) of Harrodsburg, KY, six grandchildren: Gary Thomas Popplewell (Julie), Channing Sallee, Curry Logue (Katie), Olivia Hazelwood (Logan), Zane Towe and Blaize Towe, several great grandchildren and a nephew Bobby Carter.He was preceded in death by a son: Gary "Bub" Carter, an infant daughter: Mandy Carter and brother: Jimmy Carter.

Gerald was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.

A gathering of friends and family will take place Saturday; April 6 from 9 am - noon with a memorial service scheduled for noon, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
