Obituary of Harold Wayne Sanders

HAROLD WAYNE SANDERS Harold Wayne Sanders, age 60, 4573 U.S. Highway 68, Ewing, KY, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the V.A. Medical Center, Leestown Road in Lexington. Born August 14, 1944 in Kenton County, KY, he was the son of the late Owen Nelson and Annabelle Royalty Sanders. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Sergeant after 23 years of service having served in the Vietnam War and where he especially enjoyed serving his time in Alaska. He was also an avid fisherman. Survivors include: one son, Scott and his wife Jerri Sanders, Chesterfield, Virginia; one daughter, Cris and her husband Tyrhen Tigner, Fairbanks, Alaska; two brothers, Kenneth Eugene Sanders, Mercer County and R.C. Sanders, Palm Coast, Florida; six sisters, Rebecca Gooch, Stanford, Joann Burton, Mercer Co., Frances Sanders, Peggy Burns, and Donna Louise Sanders, all of Harrodsburg, and Deborah Lynn Sadler, Mercer Co.; two grandchildren Jesse Tigner and Jacob Laurence Tigner, both of Fairbanks, Alaska. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Wolcott. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 27th by Bro. Kenneth Preston at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville with military rites. There will be no visitation. The Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
