DOROTHY MORRIS
Dorothy Morris, age 82, Perryville Street, Harrodsburg, widow of Samuel Whaley Morris, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at the Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born January 2, 1922 in Millersburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Homer Anvil Garrison and Etta Mae Morgan Garrison.
She was a retired school teacher for the Harrodsburg Independent School District in the Harlow Elementary School, was a Charter member of the B & PW Club, a member of the New Comers Homemakers Club, a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, a member of the UK Alumni Club, a member of N.E.A., K.E.A., and H.E.A., a member of AARP, was the first teacher to teach special education in the Harrodsburg School System, a former UK staff member, and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church where she was a member of the Goodwill Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: one son, Sam W. Morris, Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Lou Etta M. Hicks, St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister Margie Frances Brown, Campton, KY; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Ellis Garrison Morris and a sister Mildred Garrison.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, September 9th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. Chuck Brimley and Dr. Don Chase. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Larry Gene Brown, Sammy Morgan Brown, James Anzil Garrison, Everett Reynolds Garrison, Greg Collins Garrison, Wm Brooks Morris, and Calvin Lee Wiley.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Wednesday and after 7:30 am Thursday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
