Obituary of Harry Melvin Barnett
Harry Melvin Barnett, loving husband of Bonnie Barnett passed away Sept 3rd at 3:51 at UK hospital surrounded by family, at the age of 75. He was born December 30th, 1943 in Mercer County to the late Homer and Nilla ( Drury) Barnett
Survivors other than is wife include: one son, Jeff ( Beth) Barnett; three daughters, Deanna (Gary) Arnold, Rhonda (Don) Huffman and Sandy (Terrell) Royalty; one sister, Ann ( Clyde) Greene; seven grandchildren,seventeen great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip, Jimmy, and Stevie Barnett. He will also be missed by many special friends, including the gang at Proctors and his friends at Thunderbird Park Ft. Myers, Florida. Harry was a snowbird and loved going to Florida every winter after he retired from Corning Inc. after 31 years of service. He loved to dove hunt, crappie fish, and spend time with family. His greatest joy was helping others.
Funeral arrangements will be Sunday Sept. 8th at RansdellFuneral Chapel, visitation will start at 12 pm and services following at 2:30. His grandson, Matt Robison will be giving the eulogy along with John Kesel, associate pastor of The Carpenters Christian Church, where Harry was a member. Burial will follow at Springhill cemetery, Harrodsburg Ky.
Pallbearers will be Rob Huffman, T.J. Royalty, Izaiah Robison, Braylon Robison, Brad Barnett, and Chad Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be David Proctor, Mike Camic, Bernie Hartung, Paul Wilson, J. Hugh Phillips, Garvey Barnett, Eugene Richmond, and Rick Helton.
Memorials are suggested to the Carpenters Christian Church 1340 , U. S. 127 Bypass, Harrodsburg, Ky 40330 ( building fund).
