Obituary of Mary Alice Holiday

Mary Alice Holiday, 95, Harrodsburg, widow of James "Doc" Holiday, died Saturday, March 7, 2020, at her home. Born September 20, 1924, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Betty (Walls) Carey. Mary Alice was Retired Exec. Director of the Harrodsburg Housing Authority, a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, and past chair of the Mercer County Republican Party.
Survivors include: three sons, Jimmy (Frances) Holiday, Dennis (Shannon) Holiday, and Jerry Holiday, all of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, John (Donna) Holiday, Laila (Brian Stine) Holiday, Crystal Nicole (Brad LaBore) Holiday, Charles Brandon (Kayleigh) Holiday, James Tyson Holiday, and Scott Holiday; seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Holiday, and two brothers, John William Carey and Joe Barnett.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wed., Mar. 11, 2020, at the Peter Cemetery, Mackville, KY, by Ronnie Ping. Visitation will be 11 AM - 1 PM Wed., at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials are suggested to: Mercer Co. Habitat for Humanity or the Mercer Co. Animal Shelter.
