ROBERT E. HALE
Robert E. Hale, 69, Versailles Road, Lawrenceburg, formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Virginia Brown Hale, died Thursday, September 30, 2004 at his home.
Born July 27, 1935 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Monte Lee and Alla Mae Wells Hale. He was a retired Sergeant in the U.S. Army having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the DAV, American Legion, VFW, and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: three sons, Robert E. Hale, II, Lebanon, KY, Ricky Hale, Danville, and David Hale, Virginia Beach, Virginia; three daughters, Gayle Adkins, Danville, Lisa Brown, Danville, and Becky Helton, Harrodsburg; one brother, James L. Hale Stanford, five sisters, Roberta Martin, Indianapolis, Indiana, Alberta Woods, Stanford, Lucille Griffin, Stanford, Janie Cook, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Virginia Hale, Stanford, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Greg Hale, a daughter, Donna Rice, a brother, Eugene Hale, and two sisters, Patricia Hale and Bertha Steele.
Pallbearers are Charlie Wood, Colby Grider, Rodney Brown, Mark Brown, Randall Hale and Josh Hale. Honorary bearers are Anthony Layer, Ken Helton, Chuck Adkins, and Jeremy Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, October 3rd at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. Paul Readnour. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be after 5 pm Saturday and prior to the service Sunday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
