Obituary of Lois Mildred McCrystal

Lois Gibson McCrystal, 95, widow of Garnett McCrystal, died Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the home of her daughter. Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Mercer Co. KY, she was the daughter of the late Elmer "Dick" and Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Gibson. She was a 1942 graduate of Rose Hill High School, attended Fugazzi Business College, and had worked many years as a secretary for Avon Bluegrass Army Depot, Darnell Psychiatric Hospital, and Western Union. She had also worked in food service for the Mercer Co. School System and had managed Bailey's Motel in Harrodsburg. Lois was a member of the Bethel #1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: three daughters, Denise (Tony) Placido of Nicholasville, Dianne (Gary) Goodaker of Lake Charles, LA and Kathy (George) Hocker of Nicholasville; four grandchildren, Thomas (Lauren) Goodaker, Ann (Ken) Farque, Andy (Tabor) Placido, and Bo (Elizabeth) Hocker; eight great grandchild, Gracie & Ransom Goodaker, Brittany Farque, Jack & Stella Placido, Jay & Hanna Hocker, and Tyler Young; one great great grandchild, Paisley Farque. She was preceded in death by four siblings, William Harold Divine, Donald Williams Gibson, Ada Helen Gibson, and Glenda Jean Gibson. Funeral services will be 1 PM, Sat., August 22, 2020, by James Byrd at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 11 AM until 1 PM, Saturday, Ransdell's. Pallbearers are Bo and George Hocker, Tony and Andy Placido, Travis Hill, Kirk Schamp, Stephen Reed, Gary Lay, and Chris Mink.
