Obituary of Mildred Bernice Goff Stratton

Mildred Bernice Goff Stratton, 93, was a loving Christian mother, wife and friend died Saturday evening October 24, 2020 at Frankfort Regional Hospital. Born April 6, 1927 in Nelson County and the raised in Willisburg area of Washington County. Mildred became a beautician and worked at Kaufman’s Department store in downtown Louisville through the 1950s and early 60s. Then in early 1960s, her and husband Charles moved to a farm in Mercer County. While Mildred did not work in a shop while on the farm but she still enjoyed working as a beautician so she would have ladies come to the house or would go to their homes. She continued working with dozens of ladies throughout Mercer County for decades and still had a few clients into her 80s. Mildred was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Milton Stratton. She has one son, Gary Reed Stratton, of Frankfort, Kentucky. One brother, Ernest Reed Goff of Willisburg, Kentucky. A sister-in-law, Barbara Peavler of Louisville, nephew Kenny Peavler (Donna) of Louisville and niece Pam Hance (Dennis) of Troy, Ohio. There are several great nephews and nieces, as well as many cousins. And also many friends that are like family. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John McDaniel and Stephen Brogli. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednsesday evening. Ransdell’s. Pallbearers will be Lee Todd Pinkston, David Moore, Steve Fobare, Ernie Prather, Daniel Hance, Jeff Pinkston, Glenn Devine and Scott Bevins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Stratton, Curtis Sherrow, Bobby Christerson, Ralston Puckett, Jeff Young, and Kelly Bugg. Memorials are suggested to a charity of one’s choice.
