Obituary of Sue Miller Perkins

Shirley Sue Miller Perkins was born on May 4th, 1936 in Monroe County, Kentucky. She is the daughter of the late Doc and Marie Isenberg Miller. She graduated from Alvaton High School in Warren County, Kentucky in 1954, earned her Bachelors of Science in Education from Western Kentucky State College (WKU) in 1958, and earned her Masters of Arts in Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1974. During her years as an educator, she taught in Warren Co., Shelby Co., Estill Co., and retired at Harlow Elementary School in the Harrodsburg Independent School District. She was a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Sue was married to the late Joe Allen Perkins in 1957. Preceded in death by a son, Captain John Allen Perkins. Survivors include: a son, Kevin Miller (Ann-Margret) Perkins and a daughter-in-law Cari Perkins (Kenny) Wade, all of Harrodsburg, KY; her three grandchildren, Jonathan Alexander (Erin) Perkins from Olathe, KS, Olivia Miller Perkins, and John Preston Perkins, both of Harrodsburg, KY., as well as two great-grandchildren Joseph Allen Perkins and Jonathan Thomas Perkins of Olathe, KS. In addition she is survived by two brothers, David Miller in Georgetown, IN and Roger (Sue) Miller in Bowling Green, KY. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jim Tom Miller, Juanita Meredith, Alicia Bowman, George Miller, and Jack Miller. A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM, Sat., May 15, 2021, by Micki McHugh. Memorials are suggested to Harrodsburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at PO Box 96 Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
