OMER GILBERT BROWN, JR. Omer G. Brown, Jr. age 57, Hardin Heights, Burgin, died Monday, November 15, 2004 at the St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born March 29, 1947 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Lucy Lane Brown, Harrodsburg and the late Omer G. Brown, Sr. He was a retired employee of Matsushita Corporation in Danville having worked in the Inventory Control Department and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother include: two daughters, Sandra and her husband Terry Currens, Harrodsburg and Kelli and her husband Ryan Wilcher also of Harrodsburg; seven sisters, Pauline Lands, Danville, Mary Rose and her husband Ronnie Smith, Harrodsburg, Doris Brown, Harrodsburg, Alma and her husband Bob Edgington, Celina, Tennessee, Phyllis Sue and her husband Martin Hathaway, Okalahoma City, Oklahoma, Ila and her husband Ron Homsher, Pacifica, California, and Lana and her husband Gary Callahan, Fort Collins, Colorado; two granddaughters, Autumn LeAmber and Lauren Ryanna Wilcher, both of Harrodsburg; several nieces and nephews and a host of caring friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Larry W. Brown. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, November 18th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bros. Ralph Neal and Lester Tirey. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Jim Neal, Leon Leonard, Robert Brown, Morris Hayes, Frank Russell, and Jimmie Currens. Honorary bearers are Carlos Lane, Keith Currens, Irvan Collins, Bob Bryant, David Moore, Dave Wall, Reggie Clark, Bernie McGlone, Mark Hensley, and Wayne Mayes. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 pm on Wednesday and after 7:30 am Thursday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mercer County Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Program.
