Obituary of Martha Watts

Martha Cheak Watts, 82, Nicholasville, KY, widow of beloved husband of 52 years, Isaac Downey Watts, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Baptist Health, Lexington. Born September 25, 1938, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William Hall and Vonie Mae (Yocum) Cheak. Martha was a retired bookkeeper for First National Bank and was a member of the Sulphur Well Christian Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Gina Johns and Lisa (Brent) Jennings, both of Nicholasville, KY; four brothers, Melvin Cheak of Lexington, Richard Cheak of Burgin, Bob Cheak of Burgin, and David Cheak of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, Faith (Tim) Yff, Lindsay (William) Redington, and Whitney Johns; two great grandchid, Madelynn Redington and Cecilia Yff; several nieces and nephews; a special pet & companion, Sophie Mae Watts. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bart Johns, and two brothers, Tom and Billy Cheak. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, by Tyson Cummings, Carl Peters, and Robert Spurlock. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 10 AM until 2 PM, Friday, Ransdell's. Pallbearers: Adam Brumfield, John Quinn, William Redington, Monty McRay, Brent Jennings, and Jimmy Estes. Honorary bearers: Ron Leach, Viley Wade, Margaret Peel, Barbara Kegley, Gayle Sexton, Cathy Young, and Pam Creech.
