Obituary of Marie Sallee McRay

MARIE SALLEE McRAY Marie Sallee McRay, age 95, Castle Heights, Harrodsburg, widow of Homer Sallee and A.D. McRay, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Bradford Square Health Care Center in Frankfort. Born August 21, 1909 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe Colvin and Iva Corn Long. She was a retired seamstress at Cricketeer Manufacturing Company, a member of the Mercer County Senior Citizens, and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include a son Norman Sallee, Frankfort; a step-son, Arthur B. McRay, Springfield; three sisters, Virginia Emmettsburger, Lula Belle Elder and Dorothy McIntosh all of Louisville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Maurice J. Sallee and a daughter Ramah Joyce Sallee. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, November 20th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Everett Hawkins. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Douglas Sallee, Kevin Sallee, Norman Sallee, Paul Votaw, Willie B. Horn, and Maurice Long. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at the chapel Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington,Kentucky 40504.
