Obituary of Bessie Mae Votaw

Bessie Mae Votaw, 86, Harrodsburg, widow of Hershel, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born June 10, 1934, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert C. and the late Mae (Hart) Smith. Bessie had worked for Corning Glass and the Mercer County School System, and was a member of The Carpenter's Christian Church. Survivors include: one son, Larry (Lisa) Votaw, Harrodsburg; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Votaw, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, Christopher (Kari) Votaw and Jayden Seward. Bessie was preceded in death by a son, Michael Votaw, and a sister, JoAnn Huffman. Funeral services 1 PM, Sat., March 6, 2021, by Greg Warren and John Kesel. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Friday at Ransdell's. Pallbearers will be: Al Mueller, Larry Camic, Ricky Peyton, Tommy Ruckriegel, Paul Hensley, Hobert Proctor and Dale Smith.
