Obituary of Thomas Rappleye

Thomas Duane Rappleye, 84, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Betty Jo Divine Durham Rappleye, died Sunday, April 4, 2021, at his home. Born January 17, 1937, in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Cecelia (Harvey) Rappleye. He was a retired Corning Glass employee, a US Navy Veteran, and member of the Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church. Tom was also a member and past commander of the DAV, and member of the VFW, and American Legion #46 Danville.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Terri (Gordon) Alger of Rock Stream, NY; one step daughter, Debbie Swope of Harrodsburg; one step son, Chuck (Norma) Durham of Harrodsburg; one sister, Sandra (Kenneth) Swab of Bethesda, MD; one brother, Donald (Darla) Davis of Wake Forest, NC; a son-in-law, James Wilson of Harrodsburg; two nieces, Donielle Davis of Wake Forest, NC and Kelli Moyer of Harrisburg, PA; one nephew, Kenneth Smeltz of Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren, Shannon Alger of Rock Stream, NY, Axel Alger of Rock Stream, NY, and Lee Thomas (Kat) Wilson of Lawrenceburg; six step grandchildren, Nicholas Swope of Louisville, Elizabeth (Blake) Arnold of Harrodsburg, Nikki (Jonathan) Elliott of Harrodsburg, and Lee (Sidney) Durham of Bardstown, Nancy (Tom) Baker of Perryville, and James (Teresa) Wilson of Junction; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Wilson of Harrodsburg, and a sister, Nancy Jones of Harrisburg, PA.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wed., April 7, 2021, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Terry Morrison. Burial with military honors will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa, KY. Visitation will be from 12 PM until 2 PM, Wed., Ransdell's.
Pallbearers: Bernie McGlone, Blake Arnold, Jonathan Elliott, Lee Durham, Nicholas Swope, Bob Linkous, Lee Thomas Wilson, and Donald Davis. Honorary bearers: Don Rogers, Bob Durham, Jim Wilson and Chuck Durham.
