Obituary of Benny Peyton

Benny Dewayne Peyton, 73, Danville, KY, husband of Laura Tewmey Peyton, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the UK Medical Center, Lexington. Born January 27, 1948, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Fred and Gertrude (King) Peyton. Benny was a retired Plant Manager for Deerfield Plastics, was blessed by two church families, West End Church of Christ and Indian Hills Christian Church, Danville. He was a longtime volunteer for New Hope Food Pantry, was an avid Dirt Track Racing fan, and following retirement was owner of Southern Style Kettle Corn, where he enjoyed being around people.
Survivors other than his wife include: two daughters, Teresa (Hassen) Boukabache of Danville, KY and Terina (Joe) Mitchell of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, Cole Tewmey of Danville, KY; two sisters. Mossie Marshall and Demple Potts; two brothers, Pete Peyton and Tony (Bertha) Peyton; he also has four grandchildren, Andy Baker, Erin Lunsford, Lauren Daniels, and Corbyn Denson; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Benny Peyton Jr., and a sister, Lillian Turner.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at the West End Church of Christ, Danville, by Mike Crowe and Rob Kernoodle. Burial will follow in Junction City Cemetery, Junction City, KY. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday at West End Church Of Christ, Danville, KY.
Pallbearers: Dewayne Taylor, Bruce Devine, Jonathan Griffieth, Greg Taylor, Michael Tewmey, Adam Botner, and Wes Tewmey. Honorary bearers: Bruce Helm, Maurice Maddox, John Marcum, Donnie Stumph, J. F. Wilcher, David Hollon, Jerry Ledford, Gary Johnson, Jimmy Estridge, Steve Probus, Bobby Joe Ellis, Pat Overstreet, Jerry Lay, Jim Tewmey, Jim Talley, and Elliott Porter III.
Memorials are suggested to: New Hope Food Pantry, 410 Fryes Ln, Danville, KY 40422, where Benny Volunteered countless hours, or to Indian Hills Christian Church or West End Church of Christ, or simply offer a random act of kindness to someone.
