Joseph Allen Garten, 63, Harrodsburg, KY, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at the UK Medical Center, Lexington. Born March 28, 1958, in Henderson KY, he was the son of James F. Garten, Elizabethtown, KY, and the late Margie Sue (Rigdon) Garten. Joe retired as a plumber for Senninger Plumbing, but currently helped his son with his business, CAG Concrete, and was a Baptist. Survivors include: one son, Chris (Kristin) Garten of Lexington, KY; four grand children; his father, James F. Garten, a sister, Saundra Jenkins, a brother, James F. "Jimmy" Garten Jr. all of Elizabethtown, KY. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Rigdon. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Benny Strunk. Burial will follow in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Chris Garten, Jimmy Tucker, Alex Garten, Josh York, Jimmy Garten, Benjamin Moore, Raymond Lamb and Chris Casey.
