Obituary of Velva Lawson Sanders

VELVA FAYE LAWSON SANDERS Velva Faye Lawson, Sanders, age 87, Beacon Hill Drive, Louisville, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Roy Milton Sanders, died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born February 3, 1917 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Maggie Newby Lawson. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include: a step-daughter, Jolene Ashford, Lexington; one brother, Marrus Arnold Lawson, Dunnellon, Florida; one sister, Virginia Yeast, Harrodsburg, two nieces, Judy Sutter and Sherry Wilhoite; three nephews, Don Billy Rogers, Vance Lawson, and Bronson Yeast. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 8th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. James Owens. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Bobby Newby, Roy Bonta, Vance Lawson, Don Billy Rogers, Shane Wilhoite, and John Sutter. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday and prior to the service Wednesday at the chapel.
