Kelly Thompson, 81, widower of Jeanene Knight Thompson, died Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. Born August 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Arby’s and Lorraine Harris Thompson. He was a retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army and had been an FHA Loan Officer following service in the military. Kelly was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Paige (Jay) Cleveland of Franklin, TN; one son, Stuart (Amanda) Thompson of Lexington, KY; one brother, Allen Knight; grandchildren, Alaina and Rhett Thompson, Harris and Tibbie Cleveland.
Joint graveside services for Kelly and Jeanene will be 1:30 PM, Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY, by Dr. Paul Gibson. Visitation will be 10 AM until 12:30 PM Monday, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
