Obituary of Billy Nevius

George William “Billy” Nevius, 81, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Kathy Orwig Nevius, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born March 22, 1940, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late John Calvin Coastman and Ophelia David (Preston) Nevius. Billy retired from Square D Manufacturing as Inter-Plant Coordinator. Always flashing a smile, he loved to golf and fish. Nothing made him happier than hosting a fish fry for family with music and games, and he was the best at blessing the meal. Billy was also a member of the Hedgeville Baptist Church. In addition to his wife: Kathy, survivors include: two daughters: Leslee Carolyn (Vincent) Magliulo of Las Vegas, NV, Brady Catherine Nevius of Harrodsburg, KY, and two sons: Graham Calvin "Chuck" Nevius of Lexington, KY and William Chatham "Chad" Nevius of Harrodsburg, KY; two step daughters Mecia Cheak of PA and Shawna (Russell) Anderson of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister: Juanita Catherine Ball of Harrodsburg, KY; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Billy was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Stuart Nevius. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 am - 1 pm at the Hedgeville Baptist Church, 4700 Lancaster Rd., Danville, KY 40422. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm at Hedgeville Baptist Church by Jonathan Grizzell, Joel O`Dell and Ray Bell. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers will be: Steve, Jay, and Russell Anderson, Bryan Nevius, Jared Wilcox, Justin and Derek Ball. Honorary pallbearers will be: The Grand & Great Grandchildren and His Golfing & Fishing Buddies.
