Obituary of Robert Langford

Robert Langford, 93, Danville, husband of Mary Elizabeth Worthington Langford, died Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born October 18, 1927, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Frank Woodson and Cleva Routt Langford. Robert was a Navy member during World War II and later a retired Diesel Mechanic for Central Supply. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church and member of Post 0046 of American Legion. Enjoyed wildlife and was a heavy equipment enthusiast.
Other survivors include: one daughter: Charlotte (Leroy) Bratcher of Campbellsville, two sons: Steve (Beverly) Langford and Larry (Debbie) Langford, both of Danville; two sisters: Betty Hager of Harrodsburg and Annie Hooker of Danville, Six Grandchildren: Amanda Whitehead, Andrea Brown, Janie Sanders, Todd, Leeanne and Wesley Bratcher. Fifteen Great Grandchildren: Conner, Ethan, Mason and Madison South, Dalton Brown, Mea Mitchell, Colton Bratcher, Cameron Coy, Lilly and Banks Bratcher, Sofia and Briar Sanders, Mckenzie. Kadee Beth and Kyle Robert Langford and two Great-Great Grandchildren, Scarlett and Ellie South. Proceeded in death by two Brothers: Raymond and Leroy “Dodger” Langford, two sisters: Viola Dreon and Arah Wright, and two Grandchildren: Amy South and Robert Eugene Langford.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:30pm by Derek Baker. Visitation will be 12-2:30pm Wednesday, all at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers: Joe Wright, Kyle Robert Langford, Ethan South, Gary Wayne Worthington, Danny Langford and Wayne Hager. Honorary: Carrie True, Joella Curtis, Brenda Upton, Connie Barlow, Melissa Mattingly, Crystal Charlson, Roxie Webb and Teressa Shepperson.
Memorials are suggested to: DAV or Charity of One's Choice.
