Obituary of William "W. H." Darland

W. H. Darland, age 76, 310 Pleasant Hill Drive, Burgin, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at Danville Center For Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, KY. He was the widower of Lena Click Darland. Born December 31, 1927 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late John and Bertha (Robinson) Darland, He was a former employee of the Kentucky State Hospital, National Casket Company and ATR.He was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Darland was a former gospel quartet singer, a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #359 Danville, Past President of the Burgin Lions Club, and member of St. John’s Lodge #125 F & AM. Survivors include: 1 brother, Lafon Darland, Harrodsburg; 2 two sisters, Stacy (O.C.) Batts of Knoxville, TN, Ladine (Wallace)Shepperson of Mercer Co., KY; 1 Neice; 2 nephews, Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thurs. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Don Drake officiating. Burial will be in the Burgin Memorial Garden, Burgin. Pallbearers are: Doyle, Chris, & Tim Darland, Glenn Peavler, Sonny Thompson, & Johnny Meredith, Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 15 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Masonic Service at 7:30PM Memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice, P.O.
