Samuel Dennis Ballard, 63, Harrodsburg, KY, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born August 4, 1958, in Lexington, he was the son of the late Samuel Wallace and Mildred (Dennis) Ballard. Dennis graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. He was a chair cancer and woodworker at the Old Fort Harrod State Park, many people still have the wooden crosses, birds and other figures that Dennis carved and gave away.
Survivors include: Uncle, Andrew (Emily Burk) Dennis ; Aunts, Wilma (John) Ripy; and Jewell Ballard; Special Friends & Caregivers, Sherry McNear and Tim Shannon.
Funeral services, conducted by Larry D. Camic, will be 1:00 pm Thursday; September 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 12 noon - 1:00 pm Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
