William “Bill” Earl Ransdell, 72, Salvisa, KY, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the his home in Largo, FL. Born June 2, 1949, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Naomi (Honerkamp) Ransdell. Billy was a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ, was a Mercer Co. High School & Univ. of KY Graduate, was named a KY Star Farmer, had earned the American Farmer Degree, was a KY Colonel. He was also a renowned Holstein Breeder & Showman having won several state and national championships. Survivors include: two daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Miller of Salvisa, KY and Libby (Shari) Ransdell of Melbourne, FL; one sister, Vicki (Bobby) Walters of TX; mother of his children, Jane Morris Ransdell; two grandchildren, Jordan Helton, Largo, FL, and John Mark (Amy Jo) Miller, Bagdad, KY; four great grandchildren, John Luke Miller, Henry Miller, Everett Miller, and Boone Miller. Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the Ebenezer Cemetery by Terry Morrison. Memorials are suggested to: Ebenzer Cemetery Fund C/O Jim Dunn, 1472 Warwick Rd., Harrodsburg, KY 40330, or to the KY Holstein Cattle Club Scholarship Fund C/O Jane Ransdell, 1376 Cummins Ferry Rd., Salvisa, KY 40330.
