Obituary of Maurice C. Baker

Maurice C. "Bob" Baker, 92, Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Sara Sparrow Baker, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at home. Born November 22, 1928, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Rosie Lee Carr Baker. Bob was a retired South Central Bell Telephone employee and farmer, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member at Harrodsburg Baptist Church. He was also a graduate of Rose Hill High School, was an Oleika Shriner, a Mason, a KY Colonel, active in the VFW for several years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include: one son, Robert (Diana) "Bobby Jack" Baker of Harrodsburg; one sister, Barbara Logue, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, Jackson Clay Baker and Eric Thomas (Jessica) Baker, both of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Clay Baker, and siblings, Estelle Baker, Lettie B. McCrosky, Mary Elizabeth Caton, Charles Baker, Margaret Curtsinger and Frances Devine.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, October 23, 2021, by Dr. Robert Defoor. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Friday, October 22, 2021 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pallbearers: Jack Baker, Eric Baker, Doug Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Franklin Ransdell, Keith Ransdell and Brent Logue.
