Obituary of David Shewmaker

David Lee Shewmaker, 78, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Susan Murphy Shewmaker, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at his home. Born April 8, 1943, in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late John Bell and Margaret Leonidas (Bissett) Shewmaker. David was a retired Insurance Salesman and had owned and operated Edwards and Sullivan Insurance Agency, he was a former stock broker, a US Army Reserve veteran, and was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Danville. Other survivors include: three daughters, Sarah Elizabeth (Chris) Cooper of Harrodsburg, KY, Carrie (Austin) Jackson of Harrodsburg, KY and Katherine Lee Shewmaker of Charleston, SC; one sister, Patricia “Pat” (Mike) Rockas of Harrodsburg, KY; two brothers, Steven “Steve” Milton (Gayle) Shewmaker of Athens, GA and James “Jay” Thomas (Kathy) Shewmaker of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Zachary & Linzie Cooper; and Ian Selby. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Larson Cole Jackson, and a brother, John Bissett Shewmaker. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 PM, Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at The Presbyterian Church of Danville, KY, by Caroline Kelly. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held from 4-7 PM, Sat., Nov. 13, 2021, at Mill Farm, 1211 Perryville Rd., Harrodsburg, KY, the place David loved the most.
