Obituary of Albert J. Alexander

Dr. Albert Alexander, 75, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, passed away on August 27th 2022 surrounded by family. He was born in Burlington, Kansas on September 9th 1946 to Dorothy and Adrain Alexander and attended Church of the Brethren. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Adrain Jr. Alexander, a sister Marcia Pence, and a nephew Ronald Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Barbara Alexander, his siblings Carolee Dorton of Girard Kansas, Dennis Alexander (Ronda) of Lincoln Nebraska, Sharlene Mueldener (Karl) of Topeka Kansas, Royce Alexander (Kathleen) of Burlington Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children Anthony Alexander of Harrodsburg Kentucky, Grant Alexander (Donna) of Albuquerque New Mexico, Camille Osterloh (Sascha) of Danville Kentucky and four grandchildren Chantel, Anne, Adrain, and Lauren. He obtained his PhD in Nuclear Engineering in 1973 from Kansas State University. He had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force with 21 years of service and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He continued to work as a lead scientist at Mission Research Corporation until 2001. His lifelong love of Saddlebred horses brought he and his wife to Kentucky in 2002 where they purchased a farm and continued their breeding of horses at Roseridge Farms. His vision of Saddlebreds led to several champions. He was a member of the Kentucky Bass Club of Danville for several years and had a lifetime love of fishing with friends and family. He was also a member of the Fort Harrod Beekeeping Club. People remember Albert for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and strong work ethic. A celebration of life will be held at the Alexander’s Roseridge Farm in Harrodsburg Kentucky on Saturday September 3rd from 3 – 7 p.m. with a second one to be scheduled in Burlington Kansas at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to the American Kidney Fund or the American Saddlebred Horse Association.
