Obituary of Irene Daugherty Cunningham

Irene Daugherty Cunningham Irene Daugherty Cunningham, age 93, widow of Forrest V. Cunningham, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Heritage Hall Care Ctr., Lawrenceburg, KY. Born September 28, 1911 in Wayne County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Kincaid and Pearl (Conley) Daugherty. She was a retired teacher for both the Harrodsburg and Mercer County School Systems, a member of the retired teachers association, the Harrodsburg Womens’ Club for 50 years, and also a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church for 78 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher and had served as president of the Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Burgin High School and the University of Kentucky. Survivors include: one brother: Louis (Dorothy) Daugherty and one sister, Gertrude (Gene) Sageser both of Lexington, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Sherrill Daugherty and three sisters, Lucille Yocum, Ruth Sanders, and Dorothy Finnell. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday at the Spring Hill Cemetery by Rev. Jimmy Owens. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel after 12 Noon Friday. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harrodsburg United Mehtodist Church.
