Leoda L. Carter

Leoda L. Carter, age 84, Cornishville Road, Harrodsburg, widow of Arnold Carter, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Cambridge Nursing Home, Lexington, KY.

Born April 25, 1920 in KY, she was the daughter of the late Merrel and Lillie (Robinson) Long. She was a self employed homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for many years where she was also a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Sunshine Homemakers Club and was an avid UK basketball fan.

Survivors include: one son: Arnold Wayne (Sherry) Carter of Harrodsburg, one sister, Ava Jewell (Willie B.) Horn of Harrodsburg, a niece, Brenda H. Rogers and a nephew Merrill Nichols Long both of Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother Leon Long.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 8th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Stephen Ramsey. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Bill Rogers, Will Rogers, Maurice Long, Kenny Baker, Jim Baker, and Garnett Rubel. Honorary bearers are Sunday School Class Members, Wanda & Rhonda Baker.

Visitation will be Monday, February 7th from 5-8 pm and Tuesday prior to service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
