Obituary of Omega Currens

Omega Currens, 84, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Clarence "Jake" Currens, died Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her home in Harrodsburg. Born March 28, 1938, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Spicie (Watts) Hayes. She was a retired nurse, having worked for the V.A. Hospital and Thompson Hood Veterans Center. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. Survivors include: son, Jeff (Deborah) Currens of Salvisa; daughter-in-law, Debbie Currens of London; five grandchildren, Marie Currens McWhorter of London, Chris Currens of Georgetown, Jennifer Trisler (Patrick Beasley), Jason Currens (Theresa Caudill), Shelby C. (Andrew) Garrison all of Mercer County; eleven Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Omega was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Currens, and six brothers. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Doug Wesley and John David Lane. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, October 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are to be: Bobby Grider, Steve Long, David Chumley, Carl VanArsdall, Jim Pearson and Johnny Dickerson. Honorary bearers are: Marie C. McWhorter, Chris Currens, Jennifer C.
