Fred Cornelius, 84, Murray, KY, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the Murray - Calloway County Hospital, Murray. Born April 4, 1938, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James H. and Sarah Susan (Lively) Cornelius. Fred was retired English professor for Murray State University and a member of the National Council of English Teachers
Survivors include: one sister: Marie Cooper of Harrodsburg, KY; Nephew, Bill (Debbie) Cornelius of Middleburg, FL; Niece, Sheryl (Terry) Royalty; Nephew, Steve (Donna) Yeager; Niece, Reeda (Tom) Hewlett of Frankfort, KY; Niece, Pam Burton; Niece, Kathleen (Jacky) Holt of Danville, KY; Nephew, Billy Douglas Cooper of Murray, KY.
Fred is predeceased by four siblings: Donna Elliott, Clarence, James W. Jr., and David Cornelius.
Funeral service Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at 3:00 PM, with visitation after 1:00 PM until hour of service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
