Glenda Keeney-Gibson posted a condolence
Tuesday, April 4, 2023
To the family of Russell Brock, I extend my deepest sympathy for the loss of a husband, father, and brother.
You will not recognize my name, Glenda Keeney-Gibson, until I tell you that I am the daughter of Linus and Freda Keeney. My mom and dad were friends with Russell's parents, Raymond and Clarice Brock, throughout their lives. Russell's parents would visit from time to time and would bring Sharon. We loved kicking down corn in the corn crib. My mom wrote to Russell's mom at the nursing home until she passed. My parents bought the house and farm in Nancy, KY from Russell's grandparents, D B & Flora Prather. Although dad and mom have passed, 2017 and 2020 respectively, we still own the house and operate the surrounding farm. Patty, I believe that you and Russell came to my Dad's visitation. Again, thank you. I am providing background in order to share a family story. Mom said that when she and dad moved into the house there was a note written on the door that said, grandma I came from school for lunch but you weren't here. A one room school was just across the field and it seems that it was an often occurrence for a grandchild to show up for lunch at your grandma Prather's.
If there is any interest in visiting the farm or the Prather family cemetery located on the farm I want you to know that you are most welcome. My cell number is 602-622-0818. Losing a loved one is difficult and my thoughts are with you. I hope that memories and a bit of family history help to ease the pain. With sympathy, Glenda

God Blessed me with the most amazing parents! Strong Faith in God, hardest working man and life morals that instilled Patrick & I.
Daddy was the most hard working man that I have ever known to make sure he took care of us and provided for our family. He loved his family and would help anyone that needed it if he knew them or not. He has fought so long and hard for so long, with mama there every step of the way.
I love you Daddy! Thank you for loving us no matter what and always being there for me and Zachary & Kennedy showing them what a true man was. Until I see you again watch over us. We will take care of mama.

I remember whenever I came to see him as soon as I walked in the door he would yell “ ah Kenny Taylor”. And that was every time I walked through the door. His nicknames were the best he called me Kenny Taylor or gomer. Kenny Kenny co-co pop was one he called me when he was really happy. He is always messing up names calling me Zachary,Patrick, Levi, or Stephanie. As many know I am his only granddaughter and the favorite. Papaw made sure I never knew what it would be like not having a father.

I remember when I was little and I stayed the night and I slept right in the middle of mamaw and papaw. Sometimes I would roll on his side and he would stick his fingers in my ribs and I’ve slept straight ever since.

One time after I was married I was at Ma Brocks and she has made me wilted lettuce because that was my favorite. Russell was there and told me he had all kinds down in the field across from Cecil’s. He told me where to go and I went an cut a big mess off lettuce or so I thought. Well the next time I was at Ma Brock’s, Russell was there too. He asked me if I had made any wilted lettuce. I told him yes but it just didn’t taste like Ma Brocks. Well he got to asking me questions about where I cut it from. Well come to find out I had cut a bunch of greens. He got the biggest kick out of that and him and Ma Brock laughed so hard at me for that. He would always tease me about that for a long time after.
