Mechanicsville, VA – Roy Griffieth, 91, of Harrodsburg, KY, passed away April 12, 2023 in Glen Allen, VA. Born June 14, 1931 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Abe and Mary Davis Griffieth. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He moved to VA in 2010 to live with his stepdaughter, Kay Huggins. He enjoyed traveling and seeing different places. Roy is survived by one son, Bruce (Connie) Griffieth and two daughters, Edna (Paul)Knepfle and Emily(Joe Dunagan) Mendell, two stepdaughters Charlene (Conn) Bodner and Marilyn K. (Don) Huggins, one stepson Stanley (Janet) Mills, sister Betty McGinnis and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary M. Griffieth, his sons, Roy Jr., Paul and JamesD. Griffieth, two stepdaughters Louvenia Allen, Wanda J. Starke, two stepsons Danny D Mills and James W Mills, sisters Elizabeth Johnson, Margaret Peavler, and Jewell Buchanan, brothers Ray, James, Edward and John Griffieth. Funeral Service will be conducted 12:00 PM, Sat., April 22, 2023, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Wayne Galloway of Fort Logan Church of Christ Sanford, KY. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com.
