This one hurts... Other than my own father, my uncle Dale was a very big part of helping me become a man. He took my brother and I into his home as kids and treated us like his own. He was one of the best people I’ve ever known. My fondest memories of him was how he would take my brother and I to help him paint apartments. We would talk about life as he taught us the value of an honest days work. When I was away in the Navy he would call from time to time to see how I was. When I got discharged from the Navy he came to celebrate me being home with my dad and I. That meant a lot. I find myself at this point in my life without the 2 men that molded me into who I am today. Dale will be missed terribly. This is the only photo I have of Dale, my dad and l. Rest in peace uncle Dale. I love you.

Q: What 3 words best describe Dale and why?
A: Dale spent a lot of time reading, and and was not afraid to share his thoughts and his wisdom. He cared so much about his family. He wanted to protect everyone. He loved his dogs with all of his heart! He cared so much about each and everyone in his family. He would give the shirt off of his back to help someone. Rachael and his children meant the world to him. I am going to miss his calls and his text more than anything. I know he is with our heavenly father now.

That Christmas my grandmother bought all her grandkids a Teddy Ruxpin, uncle Dale brought me a $2 dollar viewfinder and made my Christmas that year, I had to show everyone what a wonderful viewfinder my uncle bought me! I would always tell my parents I was gonna run away, I was going to stay with uncle Dale and they couldn't stop me! He truly loved all of his family unconditionally without judgment and when you needed him he was there without question. This is not a goodbye, but a I'll see you later because I know I will see you again and you will be there with your arms wide open!

My uncle Dale demonstrated his big heart and love for family at a time when it was needed most. I remember my uncle Dale standing up for my mom when she needed him the most by taking my brother and I in under his roof. It was difficult at times, but he stood strong long enough to allow us an opportunity and for that I am always grateful. He would take my brother and I painting with him to earn a few extra dollars as well as let us work with his neighbor doing farming work and searching for arrows in the dirt. He is a part of some of the deepest memories from my childhood and I love him dearly, he will always have a special place in my heart! Rest in Peace!
