Carol Goodlett Skaggs, 80, Springfield, formerly of Harrodsburg, KY, wife of Dale Edward Skaggs Sr., died Saturday, May 13, 2023, at her home in Springfield. Born August 7, 1942, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Chester Allen and Pearl (Addington) Simms. Carol was a secretary and teller for State Bank & Trust and was a member and piano player at the Kirkwood Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: daughters: Tammy Goodpaster of Harrodsburg, Sherry (Don) Sever of Georgetown, Angela (Tim Witt) Goodlett of Lancaster, son: Kevin (Angie) Goodlett of Springfield, two sisters: Joy Campbell of Danville, KY and Diane Banker of Cincinnati, OH; and step daughter; Sherry Skaggs of TX, and step sons; Ricky Lee Skaggs of AR, Dale Skaggs of MO, Michael Dwayne Skaggs, Thomas Skaggs of Radcliff, KY and Terry Robert Skaggs of Bowling Green, KY; Grand Children, Aaron, Megan, Caleb, Morgan, Makenna & Hannah; Three Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her first husband; Charles T. Goodlett Jr., five siblings; Kenny, Sonny, Donald Simms, Norma Carrier and Janice Simms, and a granddaughter; Jaysa Goodpaster
Funeral services will be 1 PM; Wednesday, May 17,2023 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Cleo Goodlett and John David Lane. Burial will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery, Salvisa, KY. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
