Sarah Frances Woods Bottom, widow of William Armond Bottom, died July 16, 2023 in Harrodsburg, KY. Born August 16, 1928 in the Woods’ family home ‘Woodsland’ in Harrodsburg , she was the daughter of Lewis Curry and Minnie Wilder Woods and a descendant of early Harrodsburg pioneers and settlers. In 1946 Sarah graduated from Harrodsburg High School and later attended Union College and the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.

Sarah is immediately survived by daughters Blair Bottom of Frankfort KY and Marsha Noel (Mark), Harrodsburg, KY; and grandson Chadwick Noel (Sarah), Lawrenceburg, KY. She also leaves behind the following nieces and nephews: Sarah Hill Woods Schooler, Midway, KY; Roberta Woodrick, Lawrence KS; Curry Woods, Bel Air, MD; Sammye Woods, Nashville, TN and Alice Yates, Versailles, KY; Jeff Bottom, Martinsville, IN; and David Bottom, Indianapolis, IN.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister Rea Yates of New Castle, KY; and brothers Jack and Lewis (Shank) Woods, both of Harrodsburg, KY.

A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM, Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Sammye Woods. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM.

The family extends their gratitude to Heritage Hospice, the Harrodsburg Baptist Church congregation and family members, friends and neighbors for the kindnesses and support given.
